…Charges New Bishop To Use Staff For Blessings, Shepherd Flock Justly

The General Overseer of Divine Mercy and Solution Ministry (DMS), Dr Amos Okogu, has been consecrated and enthroned as Bishop of the ministry, with the officiating cleric, Archbishop Prof. Emmanuel Maxima, charging him to embrace humility, promote peace and exercise his spiritual authority with justice.

The consecration and enthronement were performed by His Eminence, Archbishop Maxima, JP, National President of the Emmanuel Royalty of Bishops and Apostles College (EROBA), at the headquarters of DMS in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Congratulating Bishop Okogu on his elevation, Maxima said the episcopal office was not a platform for pride or oppression but a call to demonstrate humility, uphold godly values and ensure that the glory of God was evident in his life and ministry.

He noted that the office of a bishop was also recognised by the government, stressing that Okogu must demonstrate the authenticity of God’s calling through his conduct, leadership and commitment to the ministry.

Maxima urged the newly consecrated bishop to remain loyal, avoid oppressing people and promote peace, beginning from his home. He also admonished him to conduct himself with dignity and restraint, warning against public confrontations and urging him to maintain exemplary behaviour both within the church and in the wider society.

Emphasising the spiritual responsibility attached to the bishopric, the archbishop warned Okogu against using his episcopal staff as an instrument of condemnation or intimidation.

“Your bishopric staff is not meant for laying curses but for blessings. Use it to shepherd your people justly,” he admonished.

He stressed that the bishopric staff should symbolise service, spiritual guidance and the responsibility to lead the congregation in righteousness, rather than serve as a tool for punishing or intimidating members of the flock.

According to Maxima, the elevation should inspire greater commitment to service, humility and fairness, urging Okogu to use his position to build peace, strengthen faith and promote harmonious relationships among his followers.

The ceremony attracted an array of archbishops, bishops, clergy and other dignitaries, who gathered to witness Okogu’s consecration and formal enthronement.

Also present was the National Coordinator of the Integrity Group, Dr Oke Idawene, alongside other religious leaders and guests.

The consecration marks a significant milestone in the leadership of Divine Mercy and Solution Ministry, as Okogu assumes the responsibilities of the episcopal office.
